About Liberty Living

A housebecomesa home.

Our supported accommodation in Sheffield is built around one idea — that a safe address, with staff in office around the clock, gives people the foundation they need to move forward.

“A safe address is where everything starts.”

Our story

Founded on a simple,
radical idea.

Liberty Living runs supported accommodation at 249 Pitsmoor Road in Sheffield. Our building is open to single adults who are homeless, leaving custody, or working through substance or alcohol misuse — and the front door is staffed 24 hours a day, with CCTV throughout.

We believe every person who walks through our doors carries a story worth honouring and a future worth fighting for. Our work is partnership — providing the safety and stability that let other professionals do their part, and helping with the practical things that often get in the way.

A safe address is
where everything starts.
— Our founding principle

We accept referrals from local authorities, probation, homeless shelters, drug and alcohol services, and any other professional supporting an adult who needs a safe place to stay. Self-referrals are welcome too. The journey isn't linear. But no one walks it alone.

How we work

A simple,
steady approach.

01

A safe address

249 Pitsmoor Road in Sheffield offers single adults a private room, with staff in office around the clock and CCTV throughout the building.

02

Four groups, one front door

Our supported accommodation is open to homeless adults, ex-offenders, and people working through substance or alcohol misuse.

03

Joined-up referrals

We accept referrals from local authorities, probation, homeless shelters, drug and alcohol services and any other professional in someone's care.

04

Practical support

Our staff help with the things that often get in the way — benefits, ID, GP registration, appointments, and onward housing planning.

05

Move-on, when ready

Length of stay is flexible. We work with each resident to find the right next step when they're ready to leave.

What we stand for

Four values.
One mission.

These aren't poster slogans — they're the decision-making framework that actually shapes what we do when no one is watching.

01

Compassion

We approach every individual with empathy, understanding and respect for their journey — without judgement.

02

Community

We build supportive environments where residents can connect, grow together and lift each other up.

03

Independence

We empower individuals to develop the skills they need for self-sufficient, dignified living.

04

Excellence

We hold the highest standards of care, support and accountability across all our programmes.

Leadership

The people behind
the work.

Decades of combined experience in social work, recovery, housing services, and community organising — and most of them have lived a piece of the work themselves.
